MRI System

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive and painless procedure that uses magnetic field and radiofrequency wave to create detailed images of internal structures of the body. The 1.5T MRI system at FASMC is a 24 Channel system with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning Algorithms for image reconstruction which produces high resolution images for diagnostics. Our 1.5T MRI is used for the imaging of:

Brain and Spinal Cord. MRI of the Brain and Spinal Cord is used for the diagnoses of:Aneurysms of cerebral vessels, Conditions of the eye and inner ear, Multiple sclerosis, Spinal cord conditions, Stroke, Tumors and Brain injury from trauma.

Heart and Blood vessels. MRI of the heart and blood vessels is used to check for; Inflammation or blockages in the blood vessels, Size and function of the heart’s chambers, Extent of damage caused by heart attacks or heart disease etc.
Other internal organs. MRI of organs such as Liver and bile ducts, Kidneys, Spleen, Pancreas, etc is done to check tumors or other irregularities.

CT-Scan

Computed Tomography (CT) is a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to produce images of different parts of the body. FASMC has a 128 slices CT-Scan system that is amongst the very few 128 slice CT-Scan systems in the country. The 128 slice CT scanner is an advanced CT system that can acquire 128 cross-sectional images (slices) per rotation, offering high-resolution images and fast scan times.

Our CT-Scan is valuable for various diagnostic purposes, including cardiac imaging, vascular studies, and whole-body scans. The high slice count allows for detailed and precise imaging of structures, making them useful for detecting and diagnosing conditions such as coronary artery disease, tumors, and pulmonary embolisms.

Digital Radiography System

Digital radiography (DR) is an advanced form of x-ray which produces a digital radiographic image instantly on a computer. Our X-ray system employs AI and Machine learning algorithms for the reconstruction of images captured. This produces high resolution images for diagnosis.

Our X-ray system is used for a wide range of diagnostic purposes, including detecting fractures, performing Hysterosalpingography (HSG), assessing lung conditions, and evaluating the chest, bones, and soft tissues. It provides quick image acquisition and the ability to manipulate and enhance images for better diagnosis.

Dental X-Ray System

Dental X-ray machines, also known as dental radiography equipment, are specialized medical imaging devices designed for capturing detailed images of the teeth, gums, and surrounding oral structures. These machines play a vital role in the field of dentistry, aiding in diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing oral health careAt FASMC, our dental X-ray is used for;

  • Diagnosis: identifying various oral health issues such as cavities, gum disease, impacted teeth, and abscesses.
  • Treatment Planning: plan treatments like fillings, root canals, orthodontic procedures, and oral surgery.
  • Monitoring Oral Health: regular X-rays are used to track the progression of dental conditions over time, ensuring timely intervention.

Ultrasound System

Ultrasound systems, also known as ultrasonography or ultrasound imaging, are non-invasive medical devices that use high-frequency sound waves to create real-time, dynamic images of the internal structures of the human body. These systems are widely used in medical practice for diagnostic, monitoring, and imaging-guided procedures.

At FASMC, our 4D ultrasound system has 4 probes, namely convex, phase array, linear and transvaginal. This makes it possible for us to do a wide ranges of diagnoses such as Obstetrics and Gynecology for monitoring pregnancy, assessing fetal development, and diagnosing gynecological conditions.

Fluoroscopy X-Ray

Fluoroscopy is an imaging procedure that uses continuous beam of xrays to provide real time images of the internal structures of the human body unlike traditional xrays which provide static images. It is commonly used in various medical procedures including interventional radiology, cardiology and orthopaedics.

The mobile fluoroscopy xray unit at FASMC is a classic system designed to provide fluoroscopic and spot-film features. It uses low xray radiation to provide high quality and high resolution xray images and realtime imaging during surgical and interventional procedures. Its clinical applications here at FASMC includes imaging guidance in orthopaedic surgeries, vascular studies, anaesthesiology and image guided nerve block block for pain management and therapy.
